Support

They love & support each other.

They love & support each other.

From John:

When we started down the adoption road we were required by the state of Colorado to go through 24-hours of international adoption training. My initial reaction was that of great disgust. Now, however, this has proved to one of the greatest assets we could have.

This training was not a “Ra-ra let’s bring a kid home and everything will be ok!” It really got down to some pretty scary issues internationally adopted children can come home with. The greatest of which, at least in my mind, was attachment disorders. The severity of which varies greatly from child to child and basically means the inability to emotionally attach to mom & dad. Every child coming from a baby’s home or orphanage will deal with this to some extent.

Last week we asked for help in bringing our son home. This was a decision that was not taken lightly and we really had no other choice considering the amount of time we have. The last few days have been incredible! There is no other way to say it. The support our family has received from extremely generous gifts and supportive words have literally brought us to tears more than once.

Your financial support has shown us that should our son come home and have a hard time attaching to us we have a community ready to support us. You have blown us away with your generosity and we don’t doubt that should we need support of a different kind in the future that you would all be there to walk that difficult road with us.

With the many generous donations that have come in thus far and with what we have been able to save, scrimp & sell we are within $8000 of our goal.

Thank you!
